The Level 3 Diploma in Accountancy at Coventry Global Institute (CGI) is a 60-credit university foundation programme, equivalent to one A-level. 

This course provides learners with a solid foundation for a career in accountancy and financial management, equipping them with essential knowledge and adaptable skills required for professional growth.

Upon successful completion, students receive an OTHM Level 3 qualification, fully regulated by Ofqual. Graduates can progress to a full undergraduate degree programme at various UK universities or continue with the Level 4/5 Diploma in Accounting and Finance, followed by an undergraduate top-up degree.

The Level 3 Diploma in Accountancy consists of three modules and three written assignments. Each module includes approximately 40 guided learning hours, supplemented by 30-50 hours of additional recommended exercises, readings, digital resources, and self-test tasks.

1. Recording Financial Transactions

2. Management Information

  • Introduces cost and management accounting and highlights the importance of management information.

  • Explores the role of ICT in financial data recording and its advantages/disadvantages.

3. Maintaining Financial Records

  • Explains the importance of financial records and their role in business operations.

  • Covers double-entry bookkeeping, three-column cash books, and bank reconciliation statements.

To complete the course, students will submit three written assignments, each approximately 2,000-3,000 words. Comprehensive support is provided through:

Upon completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Accountancy, students can apply for full undergraduate degree programmes at leading UK universities, including:

Alternatively, students may continue with our Level 4/5 Diploma in Accounting and Finance, followed by an undergraduate top-up degree at a range of UK institutions.

To enrol, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Have a full secondary education
  • Those without a full secondary education may qualify based on work experience (subject to review by our admissions team)
